Upper Marlboro, MD (July 16, 2002) - Diverse
Technologies Corp. (DTC), a dynamic professional services provider
to private industry and federal, state and local governments,
announced today that it has received a recognized award from the
Army Test and Training Investment Command for its outstanding work. DTC has been working on a one-year contract worth $120,000. It is a multi-year renewable contract.
“It is an honor to receive this award and to be recognized for
the quality work we’ve been doing,” said O. Tyrone Barnett, chairman
and chief executive officer of Diverse Technologies Corp., a
100-employee company. “It also shows that the work is very critical
to the Army mission.”
The Army recognized DTC for its support in developing a software
solution that links information concerning research and development
(R&D), training, and test and evaluation.
“We’re helping the Army determine the most cost-effective
methods to buy equipment, test it and develop training for the items
it purchases,” Barnett said. “We’re committed to helping the Army
run cost-effectively and efficiently.”
The award also showcases efforts by the Army to maximize the use
of resources, both budget and physical resources, such as testing
ranges.
“This effort is in concert with doing more with the limited
resources available in today’s economy,” Barnett said. “These are
leaner, meaner times. We must do more with less without sacrificing
the mission or public safety.”
DTC delivers three core areas of business: information
technology, financial management and logistics support. DTC is known
as one of the only small businesses in the United States to be
awarded a prime contract to work on the largest financial system in
the world: the Navy’s Standard Accounting & Reporting System
(STARS). DTC’s expertise at the federal level and large presence in
such states as Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia have helped
make the company a leader in the professional services market.
DTC is a recognized and preferred partner with a number of
large-scale companies, including Accenture, Deloitte & Touche,
SAIC, Microsoft, Oracle, Cognos, Grant Thorton, KPMG, Resource
Consultants Inc. (RCI) and Unisys.
DTC received numerous honors and commendations from such clients
as the Defense Finance and Accounting Service, Office of Naval
Research, Naval Air Warfare Center and Cognos Corp.
Privately held, DTC is based in Upper Marlboro, MD, near
