Upper Marlboro, MD (Feb. 28, 2002) - Diverse
Technologies Corp. (DTC), a dynamic professional services provider
to private industry and federal, state and local governments,
announced today that it will be a principle subcontractor with SAIC to enhance and improve the software/hardware systems for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS).
This comes on the heels of an earlier
announcement from Lockheed Martin, identifying Diverse Technologies
as a principle subcontractor to provide systems integration services
for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service Corporate Information Infrastructure. They will update and analyze the current DCII system project.
On the latest award, as principle
subcontractor to SAIC, DTC will provide support to DFAS under the
Defense Financial Integrated Services System II (DFISS II). It is a
blanket purchase agreement to provide support to DFAS, whose
customers are located worldwide. Those clients include the Navy, Army, Marine Corps and Coast Guard, Air Force and other DOD agencies.
“We worked hard to reach a level of service
and quality to attain this sought-after honor. It solidifies Diverse
Technologies Corp.’s position as a major provider of high technology
and professional engineering support services,” said O. Tyrone
Barnett, chairman and chief executive officer of DTC. “DTC will continue to outperform in the marketplace and provide cost-effective solutions and high quality work.”
The government is seeking to incorporate a
cost-efficient, single financial reporting system that will unify
every agency under the Department of Defense, including all branches
of the military, eliminating legacy systems. DTC will serve as a principle subcontractor under the prime vendor, SAIC, which was awarded $95 million per year with no minimum guarantee.
The DFISS II project involves providing
software support services, including software development lifecycle
support, database administration, release management, data
conversion, data warehouse development, commercial off-the-shelf
software (COTS) product evaluation and system integration.
Non-software services include document preparation, risk management, economic analysis, help desk support, process improvement, technical training and technology infusion.
DTC’s three core areas of business are
information technology, financial management and logistics support.
DTC has become known as one of the only small businesses in the
United States to be awarded a prime contract to work on the largest
financial system in the world: the Navy’s Standard Accounting &
Reporting System (STARS). DTC’s expertise at the federal level and
large presence in such states as Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia have helped make the company a leader in the professional services market.
