Diverse Technologies Recognized for Financial Management Education

Maryland Company Will Bring Training Expertise to Complex Finance, Accounting System for Defense Agencies
April 15, 2002

Upper Marlboro, MD (April 15, 2002) - Diverse Technologies Corp. (DTC), a dynamic professional services provider to private industry and federal, state and local governments, announced today that it will be a principle subcontractor with SAIC to provide financial management training and education for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS).

“We’re thrilled that Diverse Technologies’ approach to providing quality services continues to be recognized. It’s an honor for us to be rewarded with more work,” said O. Tyrone Barnett, chairman and chief executive officer of DTC.

Under the award, DTC will be a subcontractor providing training in curriculum design and development, instructional services, curriculum update and evaluation and development of performance measurements to DFAS.

“SAIC, a leader in the industry, has recognized DTC as being experts in financial management,” Barnett said. “This opportunity opens the door for DTC to expand its training initiatives and capabilities throughout the country, especially with the Defense Department.”

DFAS is the service organization that provides the finance and accounting for all branches of the military and related DOD activities. Those services include military and civilian payroll, contract payment processing, travel reimbursement and payments and DOD financial management.

DTC, which has been training DFAS for the last eight years, is a recognized worldwide leader in providing financial management training to the Navy and other branches of the military. DTC trains federal, state and commercial clients throughout the United States, Italy, Japan, Spain, Iceland and other countries.

“We’re training and educating government employees on how to use these financial software applications worldwide,” Barnett said. “Our approach to finding solutions for our clients is simple: Provide the best quality service at cost-effective prices. Our commitment to that principle shows in our work and in our clients’ continued trust in us.”

DTC’s three core areas of business are information technology, financial management and logistics support. DTC has become known as one of the only small businesses in the United States to be awarded a prime contract to work on the largest financial system in the world: the Navy’s Standard Accounting & Reporting System (STARS). Its expertise at the federal level and large presence in such states as Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia have helped make DTC a leader in the professional services market.

"Diverse Technologies Corporation has provided excellent support during the past year. They were able to increase our knowledge on both Impromptu and PowerPlay and through their guidance we were able to build numerous difficult reports. With their help, we now have our complete Supply and Operations Procedure data kit automated in Cognos. I would be willing to recommend DTC for any consulting support and training needs. "
