Maryland Taps Diverse Technologies Corp. to Upgrade Anne Arundel County’s Engineering System
Feb. 15, 2002

UPPER MARLBORO, MD. (Feb. 15, 2002) – Diverse Technologies Corp. (DTC), a dynamic professional services provider to private industry and federal, state and local governments, announced today that it won a nine-month, $350,000 contract to reengineer the project management system for the Department of Public Works Bureau of Engineering for Anne Arundel County, Md.

By applying the latest technologies and methodologies, Diverse Technologies Corp. will redesign and reengineer the project management system for the Bureau of Engineering. “We’re proud to be a Maryland company and thrilled that the state of Maryland is working with a homegrown enterprise to streamline this system and make it more efficient for Anne Arundel County, its workers,” said O. Tyrone Barnett, chairman and chief executive officer of DTC. “We know that we can take the county’s old system and redesign it for the 21st century, building a solid foundation on which future technologies can thrive.”

DTC’s three core areas of business are information technology, financial management and logistics support. DTC has become known as the only small business in the U.S. to be awarded a contract to work on the largest financial system in the world: the Navy’s Standard Accounting & Reporting System. Our expertise at the federal level and large presence in such states as Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia have helped make us a leader in the professional services market. In Maryland, the technology being provided by DTC will greatly help Anne Arundel’s Bureau of Engineering manage projects effectively and provide county employees with more timely and accurate information. The Web- based system also will enable Bureau of Engineering employees to estimate project budgets, track project schedules and monitor project performance. The Engineering Bureau is responsible for the design and construction associated with county-owned infrastructure such as roads, bridges, parks, storm drains and water and sewer systems.

“We’re not just bringing new technology into the workplace at the Bureau of Engineering. We’re developing business-specific solutions that will bring about new ideas about doing business and achieving the goals of the agency and the county,” Barnett said. “We are confident that with the right combination of technology and creativity we’ll bring the Bureau of Engineering into a new technical arena.”

DTC is a recognized and preferred partner with a number of large-scale companies, including Accenture, Deloitte & Touche, SAIC, Microsoft, Oracle, Cognos, Grant Thorton, KPMG, Resource Consultants Inc. (RCI) and Unisys. DTC received numerous honors and commendations from such clients as the Defense Finance and Accounting Service, Office of Naval Research, Naval Air Warfare Center and Cognos Corporation.

Privately held, DTC is based in Upper Marlboro, Md., near Baltimore-Washington International Airport and is minutes away from Washington, D.C. It also has operations offices in Lexington Park, Md., Mechanicsburg, Pa., and San Diego, Ca.

"Diverse Technologies Corporation has provided excellent support during the past year. They were able to increase our knowledge on both Impromptu and PowerPlay and through their guidance we were able to build numerous difficult reports. With their help, we now have our complete Supply and Operations Procedure data kit automated in Cognos. I would be willing to recommend DTC for any consulting support and training needs. "
